Trim: profile or marker
Trim says what the sticker is cut to: the whole profile, or just the marker and its quiet zone.
The rule
- Profile (the default): the sticker is the profile's shape, its holes cut out, white wherever there is no black.
- Marker: the sticker is the marker and its quiet zone, a rectangle, whatever the profile was.
- There is no “trim to rectangle”: draw a rectangle profile and trim to Profile.
- A label outside the marker does not survive Trim: Marker. The Studio says so: “the label is outside a marker-trimmed sticker: the sticker and its svg carry the marker only”
On a disc
A Ø90 mm disc with three Ø10 holes. Trimmed to Profile, the sticker is the disc. Trimmed to Marker, it is a 41.3 mm square: the 31 mm marker and its 1-cell quiet zone.
Why
“there is no longer trim to rectangle. If you want trim to rectangle then just make your profile a rectangle and trim to profile!”
