Draft — pending review. This is a plain-language working text, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. It may change.
The short version
ArUco Studio runs in your browser. You can use it without an account, and then nothing you draw leaves your device. If you sign in to save files online, we store your account and the files you save, only to run that feature. We do not sell your data and we do not run ads or ad trackers.
Without an account
- Your documents, presets and settings stay in this browser (its local storage). We never receive them.
- To run its Python core, the Studio downloads open-source packages from the jsDelivr CDN. Like any website, that CDN sees your IP address when it serves them.
When you sign in and save online
Saving online, sign-in and version history are provided by Simple Hosted Files, the accounts and storage service ArUco Studio uses. It stores:
- Your account: your email address, and your name and picture if you sign in with Google. Sign-in sessions, and the 6-digit sign-in codes we email you (valid for 5 minutes).
- Your files: exactly the ArUco Studio documents you save, and every earlier version of them, with their names and dates.
- Billing status: whether you are on a paid plan. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- A short log of account actions (creating and deleting files, plan changes, account deletion) so we can fix problems and answer “what happened to my file?”.
Sign in with Google
If you choose “Sign in with Google”, Google tells us your email address, your name and your profile picture. We ask for nothing else: no access to your Google Drive, contacts, calendar or anything beyond those three. We use them only to sign you in and to show who is signed in.
Why we store it
Only to run ArUco Studio’s online files: to sign you in, keep your files safe, charge for a paid plan, and restore things when something goes wrong.
We do not sell your data
Never. The only other parties that handle it are the services that run ArUco Studio for us: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Stripe (payments), the email provider that delivers your sign-in codes, and Google if you choose “Sign in with Google”.
How long we keep it
- Trash: a deleted file stays in the trash for 30 days, then is deleted for good.
- Versions: every save is kept. Versions older than 30 days may be thinned once a file has more than 100 versions; the newest version is never removed.
- Autosave checkpoints: while you edit, autosaves in one editing burst are folded into a single checkpoint, and the replaced autosaves are removed after 24 hours.
- Account deletion: when you delete your account we wait 30 days (you can cancel), then delete your files and account.
- Backups: we keep a second copy of your files. A backup copy of anything deleted expires 30 days after it is deleted.
Your choices
- Export any time: download any file, or all your files as a zip, on any plan.
- Delete: delete files from the Studio, or your whole account from the account page.
